Our Level 4 & Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapy courses are designed for people who want to train while continuing to work or manage other commitments.

Weekend workshops take place each about a month apart on a Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. This gives you time between sessions to develop your practical skills, complete coursework, and build confidence treating real clients.

Every workshop combines:

  • Clinical theory
  • Hands-on practical training
  • Tutor demonstrations
  • Closely supervised treatment practice

Level 4 Diploma in Sport & Remedial Clinical Massage

Level 4 Course entails:

  • 3 written coursework assignments
  • 3 short anatomy tests
  • 2 clinical case studies
  • 50 hours of logged practice treatments
  • 1 written assessment
  • 1 practical skills examination

Level 5 Certificate in Soft Tissue Therapy

To upgrade to Level 5 you will complete:

  • 2 written coursework assignments
  • 3 clinical case studies
  • 1 practical skills examination

Study from Home

All written coursework is completed through our online learning system, allowing you to study wherever and whenever suits you.

Most students should allow around 4-5 hours per week for home study and practice.

Our tutors provide ongoing guidance and feedback throughout the course to help you achieve the highest possible standard.

Practical Experience

Clinical skills develop through regular practice.

Outside the classroom you'll complete approximately 50 hours of logged treatments, usually averaging around two treatments per week.

Most students begin by treating friends and family before gradually building a client base through recommendations. By the time you qualify, many already have the foundations of a professional practice.

Assessments

You'll be assessed throughout the course using a variety of methods, including:

  • Short anatomy tests
  • Written coursework
  • Clinical case studies
  • Practical assessments

Continuous assessment means you build your knowledge and confidence steadily rather than relying on one final written examination.

Support Throughout Your Learning

We understand that everyone learns differently.

Whether English isn't your first language or you have a recognised learning difficulty such as dyslexia, we provide:

  • Additional guidance
  • Individual tutor support
  • Reasonable adjustments during assessments
  • Extra time for coursework where appropriate

Our aim is to help every student succeed.

A Professional-Level Qualification

Soft Tissue Therapy is significantly more advanced than a standard sports massage qualification.

Equivalent to undergraduate-level study, this programme prepares you to become a professional clinical therapist capable of assessing, treating and managing musculoskeletal pain and injury, not simply delivering massage treatments.

Because of the depth of knowledge and practical skill involved, the course is intentionally delivered over time, allowing you to develop both confidence and clinical competence.

Time Commitment

Outside of workshop weekends, most students spend approximately:

  • 4-5 hours on home study
  • 2 practice treatments per week

This flexible structure makes the course achievable for students balancing work, family, and other commitments while progressing towards a professional career in Soft Tissue Therapy.
